There is a theory that says that Roulette, which in french means "small wheel" was invented by the Chinese, and it was brought to Europe by Dominican monks. Some other resources say that Blaise Pascal, mathematician invented or better said created the wheel in the 17th century for other purposes.
But the game itself, the Roulette, was modernized in 1842, by Louis and Francois Blanc, they invented the Roulette with Sngel 0, and in the same time it was brought to America. The Americans created a different version of the game, adding a Double 0, this version of the game is known as the American version of the Roulette, which is different from the European Roulette. The game became very popular in the late of the 18th century when Prince Charles of Monaco implemented the wheel. | Dice Dice have been tossed for more than 2000 years, in the form of all kind of games. From all it forms craps became the most popular. In the begining they were called Hazard.
Originally in England in the 18th century only the upper class citizens were playing this game.
After the game was imported to France, it changed it's name to craps. The game became a success when it was brought to America, and it was simplified. | Blackjack The roots of blackjack and poker have their origin in China, arround 900 A.D. These card games were brought to Europe by the Mameluke Empire. Because the Mameluke people were islams on these cards were ornameted with complicate designs, reminding the Muslim carpets.
The design of the card changed when they were imported to Spain and Italy. These cardmakers strated to distinguish cards with the "pictures" of men who held power in the Court. The deck queen apperead in the 1500's, when the French replaced one of the male figures with a female card, representing a Queen. This was called the French Pack. | |
