The goal of the game is to predict where the ball will land after each spin, and this is not easy. In the European Roulette the wheel has 37 slots, reprezenting 36 numbers and one zero.

The American roulette wheel has 38 slots, 36 numbers and two zeros.
Considering this we can say that it is not an easy task to predict where the ball will land.
Some players play with the same numbers each time, they call them, hot numbers, others are choosing the numbers randomly, or the numbers which did not come up for some time.
You can also bet on several numbers, but in this case the payout will be reduced depending on the number of options the player bets.
Usually eight players play againt the house. The house is reprezented by the croupier (dealer), who rotates the wheel, handles the bets and the payouts.

You start with buying the "chips" which you will use to place the bet. Each player will get chips with different colors, so they do not mix.

You will place the chip on the number or numbers you want to bet. After everyone has placed it's bet, the croupier rotates the wheel, and lunches the ball. A few seconds before the ball is about to drop, the croupier will forbid to players to place any more bets or to change them.

The croupier will place the "dolly" on the winning number, and cleans the table, and a new bet can start. The winners are those bets that are on or around the number that comes up.
The winner(s) will get cash chips, instead of the colored chips. These have the value imprinted in them. At the cash check you can change these chips to cash.

Different types of Roulette rules:
    1. "En Prison" rule

This rule is not a general one, not all casinos use it, and is applied to even-money bets only. Some casinos allow, that is case the outcome is 0, the player has two options: either takes back half of his/her bet or lives it in prison for another rotation of the wheel. If the second outcome is also 0, the bet will be lost.

    2. "La Partage" rule

It is much like the "en prison" rule. The difference is that if the outcome is 0 the palyer will loose half of his/her bet, but does not have the option to leave it in prison for a second roulette spin.

    3.  Payouts

    • For a bet on a single number, called the straight up bet, the casino pays 35 to 1.

    • For a bet on two numbers, the casinos pays 17 to 1.

    • For a bet on three numbers, the casino pays 11 to 1.

    • For a bet on four numbers, the casino pays 8 to 1.

    • For a bet on six numbers, the casino pays 5 to 1.

    • For a bet outside dozen or column, the casino pays 2 to 1.

    • For bet on the outside even money bets, the casino pays 1 to 1.

    4.  House advantage

On a single zero roulette table the house advantage is 2.7%, on a double zero roulette table it is 5.26%, or it can be 7.9% on the 5 number bet.
